I have been commission by Craven Museum to design and make a donations box. My first idea was to make a Shakespeare transformation scene (they have a Shekaspear first folio in their collection)
In the first scene we see Shakespear asleep in his bed. In the second scene Shakespearis dreaming, with Puck dancing on his bed and the background transformed into a scene from Midsummers Night Dream.
This idea was rejected (I reaaly wanted to do it) so I came up with an alternative idea, which featured and animated Hippo skeleton ( they have a hippoo scull in theit collection). I was given the go ahead for this design, and.this week I have been working on the Hippo skeleton (see below).
I seem to become more obsessive as I age, and have spent so many hours tweaking , adjusting and sanding. I will never be rich but I am comforted by the thought that my beloved machines will outlast me by many years.
