Mary Queen of Scots

This automata was commissioned by Sheffield Manor Lodge visitor centre to be used as a collection box. It shows the final moments of Mary Queen of Scots. Apparently it took three blows of the executioners axe to remove her head and after she was sent to meet her maker a small dog appeared from under her dress. It is made from a variety of woods and took one month to construct and a further week to paint. You can see photos of the making of this piece on my Facebook group 'Mechanical Adventures'.
